 MINIMUM SAFE MANNING DOCUMENT FOR COASTAL SHIPS

 

Sir,

 

 1.       I am directed to invite your attention to DGS letter no. MSL-1(2)/95-1 dated 17/09/2002 on above subject and to state that, vide MS Notice No. 5/2001, Master (Certificate of Service) is a valid document for Indian Ships plying on Indian Coast. This would be applicable for the grades of Master, Mate, Officer-in-Charge of Navigational Watch and NWKO(NCV) Categories.

 2.       Indian Ship-owners may be advised to keep this clarification along with safe manning documents already issued to their ships.

 3.       Kindly acknowledge and confirm.
